What we are aiming at

We want this site to work for everyone, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, magnification, or a browser set to reduce motion. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

What we have actually done

Every build of this site is checked automatically before it goes live, and it does not ship if any of the following fails:

• every image carries alternative text, or is marked decorative
• every form field has a real label, and errors are announced to screen readers
• text meets WCAG AA contrast against its background, on light and dark sections alike
• the page works at 200% zoom without loss of content
• everything reachable by mouse is reachable by keyboard, with a visible focus outline
• a skip link jumps past the navigation
• tap targets are at least 48 pixels
• headings run in order, and landmarks mark out the page structure
• all animation stops for anyone whose system asks to reduce motion

Where we know it is imperfect

The before/after sliders are built on a standard range control, so they can be operated with arrow keys as well as by dragging. Our videos have no soundtrack and carry no spoken information, so they have no captions; each one has a text description for screen readers. Our PDF downloads have not been through a full accessibility review — if you need anything from one in another format, ask and we will send it.
